Social Retail

Boundary Space’s design for the new George Spencer Designs flagship showroom realises a retail space with a difference: a departure from the anonymous, transactional retail model found on the high street.

The vision was a more social retail experience, a space for browsing, relaxing and interacting.

The main challenge was to give shape to the large open space, creating an intimate area which would not intimidate customers.

This was achieved using walk-in structures for fabric hanging to create enclosed spaces where customers can comfortably browse at leisure, and with upholstered furniture providing communal seating areas for relaxation and social interaction.
